City of Calgary offers discounted land to affordable housing providers.
The City of Calgary is offering seven development sites for sale with the aim for providers to build more units and substantially increase the supply of non-market housing in Calgary.
The sites are at below market values, in central locations, and development permit applications and land use applications (if applicable) will be eligible for a prioritized planning stream through Calgary Approvals Coordination.
Please note the following:
- Community engagement is imperative and is the purchasers’ responsibility to engage with residents in the community.
- Successful applicants are eligible to receive grant funding from The City’s Housing Incentive Program and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Seed Funding program.
- Non-profit organizations interested in acquiring the land will be evaluated on minimum criteria requirements
All applications will be reviewed following the close of the application period on October 6, 2017 at 4 p.m., and the successful applicants will be selected.
