Speaker Bio - Elsbeth Mehrer

Elsbeth Mehrer is Chief External Relations Officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary (BGCC). As a member of the BGCC executive team, her areas of accountability include fund development, communications, government and community relations. Elsbeth joined BGCC in January 2019 with a mandate to lead re-branding efforts, government relations work and significant investments in fund development and marketing in order to enable greater impact with young people in our community.

Prior to joining BGCC, Elsbeth served YWCA Calgary as Vice President, Engagement & People. She’s also held leadership positions with Calgary Economic Development where she provided the business community with data, research and policy alternatives. Elsbeth’s volunteer interests include a role on the City of Calgary’s Social Wellbeing Advisory Committee as well as 6 years of service on Centre For Sexuality (formerly Calgary Sexual Health Centre) board of directors as well as on the field hockey sidelines.
