Speaker Bio - Barron Meyerhoffer

Mr. Barron Meyerhoffer, Director of Development with Ottawa Community Housing is responsible for engineering support and development, including new construction, rejuvenation, and conversion projects.

Barron graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1985 with a BEng in Civil engineering and has held numerous positions in the Construction Engineering sector over his 21-year career. He joined Ottawa Community Housing, prior to its amalgamation, in 2002.  

Barron has been successful in building efficient and sustainable housing, focusing on family units where the need is high, and incorporating robust design and materials to ensure the longevity of the homes being built. Barron and his staff are responsible for the successful completion of the second passive house building in Ottawa, and are currently working on a project that could see 270 units in three buildings built to passive house standards.
